(Delano) – State Representative Joe McDonald of Delano was recently awarded with a string of important endorsements during his campaign for reelection. Among them include endorsements from the MN Dental Association, the MN Farm Bureau, the Police Officers Federation, MN Concerned Citizens for Life, the National Rifle Association, National Federation of Business, MN Truckers Association, and the MN Chamber of Commerce.
“Our endorsement is a strong statement to businesses and employees that Representative Joe McDonald is committed to job growth and economic vitality for Minnesota,” said David Olson of the Chamber of Commerce. “Voting for Rep. Joe McDonald is one of the best steps citizens in House District 29A can take to secure their economic future.”
McDonald, who served on the Delano City Council before being elected Mayor, is hopeful to serve his district in what would be his second term in the State Legislator. He defeated his DFL challenger Christine Brazelton with a 67 to 33 percent margin in 2010. During his first term, he co-authored the “Voter ID Bill” – which will also be on the ballot for Minnesotans on Election Day – and championed smaller government legislation.
“The state government was growing at an unchecked, exponential rate, putting a burden on our small businesses and middle class families. That needed to change, and we did it. But while I am proud of our legislative achievements, I am convinced that there is still much more to be done in St. Paul to help ignite economic growth and restore our freedoms.” explained McDonald.
This year’s election will take place on Tuesday, November 6th. Polls are open 7am to 8pm. For specific polling information and locations, visit www.sos.state.mn.us.
